How Did the book Measure up?
Answer: Very well.
When I started reading this book I thought it was just going to be a run of the mill self help book but I seriously underestimated the book It is a good book because it is clear and logically arranged. 100 ideas and 100 chapters – there is no smudging to hide your helping techniques – instead the book is clear and informative. In the end the book offers a key summary of the more important suggestions . So if you are worried that 100 is too many – don’t worry – it all builds together and everyone of the 100 will help you.
An author doesn’t need credential but Barton Goldsmith Has Credentials
The author is more than qualified to write on building confidence because he graduated with psychology training. So you are not reading just another book by someone who has read a lot of self-help books and then creating one from a new spin from other books – although that works for some authors too! Your own experience and reading qualifies you to write a book of your own especially when you will see that your book can be favorably compared to some of the many others that line the library book shelves.
The Blog Writing Connection to Build Confidence
The author organizes his book into 100 chapters. Each chapter promotes an idea for building your confidence such as keeping fit to boost your spirits. But I had a “eureka!” moment when the author wrote in a chapter mid-way through the book that writing can be therapeutic and address your emotions and insecurities. Eureka! He suggests you write a blog to build your confidence. That is the tie in with this blog which recommends that people try writing a blog.
Is It Easy to Write a Blog and Is it free?
My short answers to the question above is – “Yes” and “Yes”. I review an introductory book that covers topic that allow you to write free blogs using WordPress or Blogger. There are also many on-line references that are available. I believe that if you persevere for perhaps only a few hours that you will gain the confidence to take a first step towards, say, setting up a free WordPress account and try your hand at writing blogs. The benefit will be as the “Confidence” author suggests is more confidence and a therapy that will help you handle or express your emotions in a beneficial way.
In this same site I have a book review of Introduction to WordPress
